Dresden - The Real Saint Valentine's Day Massacre
"When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die." --Jean-Paul Sartre

I was there for six months and I did not see the first weapon of mass destruction. I did receive orders from the company commander to shoot children if they threw small rocks at us and that was when I figured out that the entire thing was way over the line.

Chavez: US is a terrorist state
"They keep on bombing cities, killing children, they have become a terrorist state," he said.

Fidel Castro warned that the life of leftist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is in danger, and said he would blame the United States if his close friend and ally is killed.
"If Chavez is assassinated, the responsibility will lie entirely with the president of the United States," Castro said!

Bizarre Choice for Homeland Czar Deep in Scandal

Muzzled Activist in an Age of Terror
When the agents later left Austin's home, his room had been ransacked, but they failed to charge him with a crime.

During a recent hate-filled rant, Rock imitated a White House press briefing:"Mr. President, what about gay marriage?
'Fuck them faggots,'" Rock said of President Bush.

Report: This is the REAL Jeff Gannon/Guckert, the Man Shilling for Bush in the White House Press Corps , the Faux Journalist/Male Escort. This is X Rated. What do Bush's Right Wing Homophobes Have to Say About Bush's Press Secretary's Pal?
So in the end, why does this matter? Why does it matter that Jeff Gannon may have been a gay hooker named James Guckert with a $20,000 defaulted court judgment against him? So he somehow got a job lobbing softball questions to the White House. Big deal. If he was already a prostitute, why not be one in the White House briefing room as well?

It didn't take a genius to see that the invasion and occupation of Iraq would lead to the break-up of what was, after all, an artificial nation, one created by some British diplomat drawing lines on a map. Iraqis often complain that ethnic and religious conflict in their country is exaggerated by outsiders: but when it comes to politics, sectional interests invariably win out over national concerns, as underscored by the results of the recent election.
The elections were a big mistake. Brent Scowcroft is right that they could plunge the nation into a civil war: not just Shi'ite versus Sunnis, but a three-sided struggle also involving the Kurds. The Americans want to have it both ways: they want to be occupiers and they want to be liked, even loved, as "liberators." But to occupy a country is to rule it, and no country can have two rulers, not even in "transition." It is either occupation, or "democracy" – but not both. That is why we must get out, head for the exits – before the war spills over the border and we see the beginning of a regional war.

The US has been flying surveillance drones over Iran since last year to look for evidence of nuclear weapons programs and examine air defences.,5744,12236390%5E2703,00.html
It noted that many Iranian officers were trained in the US more than 25 years ago and were familiar with American military tactics. Iranian President Muhammad Khatami, for his part, warned on Thursday that anyone who tried to invade Iran would be greeted with a "burning hell".

American Defeat in Iraq
To increase the number of troops or to withdraw from Iraq?

Iraq Winners Allied With Iran Are the Opposite of U.S. Vision
When the Bush administration decided to invade Iraq two years ago, it envisioned a quick handover to handpicked allies in a secular government that would be the antithesis of Iran's theocracy -- potentially even a foil to Tehran's regional ambitions.

US Arming Ba'ath Militias to Fight Shi'ites?
The US-armed and supported militias in the south will comprise former members of the Ba'ath Party, which has already split into three factions, only one of which is pro-Saddam Hussein. They would be expected to receive assistance from pro-US interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's Iraqi National Accord.

Bush Wants $82,000,000,000.00 More for Iraq, Afghan Costs
Last Monday, Bush submitted an overall $2.5 trillion budget for fiscal 2006. That document called for restraining spending across a wide swath of government programs from popular farm subsidies to poor people's health programs.

Missile Defense Fails Test Again
If verified, that would be a relief for program officials because it would mean no new problems had been discovered with the missile. Previous failures of these high-profile, $85 million test launches have been regarded as significant setbacks by critics of the program.

A US soldier was killed and another wounded near Iraq's restive town of Samarra, north of Baghdad, the US military said today.
The deaths take the total number of US servicemen who have died since the March 2003 invasion of Iraq to 1455, according to Pentagon figures.

Bush lied. He stole. He murdered. In broad daylight. And he got away with it. That's the story. But you'll never hear it at the Press Club.
The hoary adage that "there are none so blind as those who will not see" should be carved in stone at the National Press Club in Washington. Surely there can be no better motto for the cozy clubhouse of America's media mavens, who seem preternaturally incapable of recognizing the truth -- even when it stands before them, monstrous and unavoidable, like a giant Cyclops smeared with blood.

The American Nightmare
Well, so what have we gotten for our $200 billion, our thirteen hundred-plus dead, our ten thousand and more wounded, and our lost global stature? It’s not what we went to war for, but it’s about all we’ve got: on January 30, we got an election -- a Middle Eastern version of Dodge City.A lot of people are very dubious about the success of this venture. But all the official government experts say it will all work out fine. And only those cursed with memory will recall that the official experts were saying much the same about Vietnam -- that is, until the Tet Offensive happened, thirty-seven years ago on Monday.

Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of a corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one's self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all!
The instant Bush lied about having proof of Iraq's WMDs, and proof that Saddam was connected to 9-11, which were both requirements to activate the Congressional Authorization for the use of force in Iraq, the government was delegitimized. I dare anyone to show me a law that requires any taxpayer to pay for an illegal war.

So when do we get invaded to remove the rogue government that spies on its own people, gases its own people during anti War protests, stages "terrorist" attacks, holds crooked elections, attacks other nations without cause, and uses torture on innocent people looking for WMD that don't exist?
