OCCUPIED BAGHDAD, New Iraq (Associated Presswhores) - A woman disguised in a man's robes and headdress slipped into a line of army recruits Wednesday and detonated explosives strapped to her body, killing at least six recruits and wounding 35 _ the first known suicide attack by a woman in Iraq's insurgency.
"We can expect they'll do everything in their power to try to stop the march of freedom," Bush said. "And our troops are ready for it."

HOUSTON (AP) - Saying they were caught off-guard by the number of people in need, FEMA officials closed a relief center early on Wednesday after some of the hundreds of hurricane victims in line began fainting in triple-digit heat.
The midday closing of the Houston disaster relief center came as officials in areas hit hardest by Hurricane Rita criticized FEMA's response to the storm, with one calling for a commission to examine the emergency response.
US forced to import bullets from Israel as troops use 250,000 for every rebel killed !
US forces have fired so many bullets in Iraq and Afghanistan - an estimated 250,000 for every insurgent killed - that American ammunition-makers cannot keep up with demand. As a result the US is having to import supplies from Israel.

For Many, Anger Has Grown Since Start of War
So there was a quiet, often angry determination in the crowd, with little of the jovial street theater that marks much political protest. Most placards did not simply call to bring troops home. At turns they labeled Bush a liar, a traitor, a fascist, a coward and a war criminal worthy of impeachment. Some asked plaintively, "Where's the outrage?"

Iraq War Supporters Follow Anti Iraq War Rallies,1280,-5301584,00.html
About 100 people had gathered before a stage set up on the eastern portion of the mall as the noon rally began. A large photo of an American flag served as a backdrop for the stage, and country music blared from speakers while other banners and signs proclaiming support for U.S. troops waved in the breeze.

Rally to support Iraq war draws hundreds
Organizers of Sunday’s demonstration acknowledged that their rally would be much smaller than the antiwar protest but had hoped that as many as 20,000 people would turn out. On Saturday, demonstrators opposed to the war in Iraq surged past the White House in the largest antiwar protest in the nation’s capital since the U.S. invasion. The rally stretched through the night, a marathon of music, speechmaking and dissent on the mall.

Support for U.S. troops fighting abroad mixed with anger toward anti-war demonstrators at home as hundreds of people, far fewer than organizers had expected, rallied Sunday on the National Mall just a day after a massive protest against the war in Iraq.
"No matter what your ideals are, our sons and daughters are fighting for our freedom," said Marilyn Faatz, who drove from New Jersey to attend the rally. "We are making a mockery out of this. And we need to stand united, but we are not."

Protesters worldwide call for end to Iraq war
The day of rallies marks the unofficial culmination of California mother Cindy Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son Casey was killed fighting in Iraq last year. "This war is immoral, it will end," said Sheehan. "The darkness will never overcome the light." Sheehan became the focus of anti-war sentiment in America last month, when she staged a 26-day demonstration in front of the vacationing president's Texas ranch.

Crowds opposed to the war in Iraq surged past the White House on Saturday, shouting "Peace now" in the largest anti-war protest in the nation's capital since the U.S. invasion. The rally stretched through the day and into the night, a marathon of music, speechmaking and dissent on the National Mall. Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey, noting that organizers had hoped to draw 100,000 people, said, "I think they probably hit that."
Supporters of Bush's policy in Iraq assembled in smaller numbers to get their voice heard in the day's anti-war din. About 150 of them rallied at the U.S. Navy Memorial. Gary Qualls, 48, of Temple, Texas, whose Marine reservist son, Louis, died last year in the insurgent stronghold of Fallujah, asked: "If you bring them home now, who's going to be responsible for all the atrocities that are fixing to happen over there? Cindy Sheehan?"

Bombings and Gun Battle Kill at Least 25 in Iraq
The violence came amid demonstrations and sharpening sectarian tensions across Iraq over the upcoming nationwide referendum on Iraq's constitution. American military officials have said they expect to see more attacks as the Oct. 15 referendum approaches.

An Iraqi judge said on Saturday he had renewed arrest warrants for two British soldiers who were rescued from jail early this week by troops using armor to crash through the prison walls.

President Bush decided Wednesday to waive any financial sanctions on Saudi Arabia, Washington's closest Arab ally in the war on terrorism, for failing to do enough to stop the modern-day slave trade in prostitutes, child sex workers and forced laborers.
The White House statement offered no explanation of why countries were regarded differently.

Troops from the army's elite 82nd Airborne Division routinely beat and mistreated Iraqi prisoners at a base near Fallujah in central Iraq with the approval of their superior officers, a New York-based human rights group said.
They alleged that a sergeant broke one prisoner's leg with a metal baseball bat. Others were made to hold five-gallon (19-liter) jugs of water with their arms outstretched, according to the report. Detainees, known as PUCs or "persons under control," were subjected to stress positions, extremes of hot and cold, sleep deprivation, denied food and water and were piled in human pyramids, the report said. The abuse was meted out as part of military intelligence interrogations or merely to "relieve stress" of troops, the report said. "Everyone in camp knew if you wanted to work out your frustration you show up at the PUC tent. In a way it was sport," a sergeant is quoted as saying. "One day (a sergeant) shows up and tells a PUC to grab a pole. He told him to bend over and broke the guys leg with a mini Louisville Slugger, a metal bat," he said.

Peace Activist Sheehan Hurt at Rally
Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan said Tuesday she was hurt slightly in a scuffle that erupted when police broke up a rally as she was at the microphone. Sheehan, whose son was killed in Iraq last year, is calling for the immediate return of troops from the region. Her 25-state tour is set to culminate Saturday with an anti-war march in Washington. She gained prominence when she staged a 26-day protest near Bush's ranch outside Crawford, Texas.

Military: Troop Deaths Hit 1,903 in Iraq
Four U.S. soldiers attached to the Marines were killed in two separate roadside bombings near the insurgent stronghold of Ramadi, the military said Tuesday, raising the number of American forces who have died in Iraq since the start of the war to 1,903.
The soldiers died in two separate bomb attacks on Monday during combat operations

OCCUPIED BAGHDAD -- Iraqi police detained two British soldiers in civilian clothes in the southern city Basra for firing on a police station on Monday, police said. "Two persons wearing Arab uniforms opened fire at a police station in Basra. A police patrol followed the attackers and captured them to discover they were two British soldiers," an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua. The two soldiers were using a civilian car packed with explosives, the source said.

British tanks crash through jail, freeing captured Britons
Witnesses said about 150 Iraqi prisoners fled the jail as well. Violence flared earlier in the day as demonstrators hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at British tanks and at least four people were killed in the major outbreak of violence.

Britain defends use of force in freeing soldiers
Two undercover British soldiers were caught driving a car full of explosives while dressed as Arabs. They were arrested after firing on Iraqi police. Needless to say, the extreme methods used by the British to wrest their men from the regular legal authority only underscores that they have something to hide. Of course, it's too late. This whole incident confirms that the so-called "insurgent" bombings are really being carried out by UK and US operatives.

Meltdown in Basra
Two British Soldiers were caught playing Arabs with a car full of explosives. Compounding the evidence of deceptions is the British Army, which broke the two men out of jail using tanks rather than allow them to be questioned about what they were doing dressed up as Arabs and driving a car full of explosives.

The British government has admitted its troops smashed into an Iraqi police jail in an effort to rescue two detained undercover agents, although neither captive was in the prison at the time of the raid.
London-based independent defence analyst Paul Beaver said the problem appeared to have been caused by a British intelligence operation to infiltrate insurgent forces going wrong.

Whore Media Rallies To Rebuild Bush's Presidential Image

There have been many reasons given for the war in Iraq, from weapons of mass destruction to the cause of freedom and democracy in the Middle East. But the one reason which continues to remain below the radar for most Americans is that the United States government is bankrupt.
How's that? The current
federal debt is rapidly approaching eight trillion dollars. The current deficit forecast for this year was $333 billion before Katrina hit. Now the deficit estimates will have to be revised by $200-300 billion. The national debt will likely increase $600 billion within a year. That's over half a trillion dollars! But the Republicans have repeatedly told Americans that "deficits don't matter."
Where is this money coming from? Most of it has come from foreign investors, such as the central banks of China and Japan. They buy U.S. bonds because they have an excess of dollars from the current account deficit, also known as the "trade deficit," which is, quite ironically, about $600 billion.
The Federal Reserve also is a significant source for this "debt money." They can simply "pop" money into existence and loan it to the government. "Pop the magic money" should be engraved above the marble entrance to their Washington D.C. fortress. If you're beginning to feel like all of this financial "hocus-pocus" is a bit tenuous then that means you're waking up from the spell. It's a hopeful sign.
Right now the U.S. is borrowing $320 billion a year just to pay the interest on the national debt. ( 8 trillion times 4 percent ). When you find yourself borrowing just to pay the interest on your debt then you are bankrupt. If interest rates ( and bond rates ) rise one percent the government will need an additional $80 billion.
Most Americans doubt that we will ever pay off that huge debt, which comes to more than
$26,000 per man, woman and child or more than $60,000 per full-time worker. 1.7 trillion of this debt is held by the Social Security Trust fund. The fund is already gone. Current recipients are getting their checks from foreign nations' purchase of U.S. bonds. At least that's one potential way to "spin" the facts. Who's paying for the war in Iraq? Japan and China. Who's paying for your Katrina relief? Japan and China. Who's paying for the highway bill? China and Japan. Take your pick of which "spin" you prefer.
One or all of these statements are true, at least in some respect, depending on how you wish to "slice and dice" the national debt. It would be one thing if the Social Security Trust Fund had been invested in private sector companies, but instead it's been spent on war in Iraq, tax cuts, and the Katrina disaster. It's all the same "pot of money."
Remember the famous words of
Ross Perot in 1992, when the national debt was only four trillion dollars: "The national debt is immoral. It's stealing from our children." A decade ago the Republicans were shouting about the need for a "balanced budget amendment" but today's corrupt gang refuses to be bothered by such things as virtues, morals or scruples. When Bush recently asked them for another 50 billion they opened the checkbook and dutifully complied.
Why do foreigners buy U.S. bonds? Because the U.S. is sitting on 10 trillion dollars of Iraqi oil. That's a conservative estimate using the figure of 200 billion barrels times $50 a barrel. Oil is now over $60 a barrel and the estimates of
Iraqi reserves go as high as 300 billion barrels, which could mean that the U.S. is sitting on 18 trillion dollars of oil. That's more than the capitalization of all the companies on the New York Stock Exchange!
Regardless of how much "window dressing" America puts on the Iraq situation, other nations know that the United States is the real government of Iraq. Without the presence of the U.S. military the current regime would fall within a week.
There's another reason the U.S. must stay in Iraq which is related but more difficult to understand. When other nations purchase oil they use dollars. In the past decade there have been discussions among OPEC nations to switch to the Euro as the required currency. If that happened, the United States would no longer reap the benefit of all these "oil dollars" circulating in the global economy. America would have to compete for Euros and the dollar would plummet in value. America's economy would collapse within a month.
Two OPEC nations have actively supported the movement to the Euro: Iraq and Venezuela. We already know what happened with Iraq. They have changed their mind. A few years ago there was an attempted coup against Venezuela's democratically-elected President Hugo Chavez. The coup failed, but there is now
mounting evidence that the CIA was behind it.
Recently, Republican TV Christian evangelist Pat Robertson publicly called for the assassination of President Hugo Chavez. After a great deal of criticism from the public he apologized for his remarks. A few days ago Hugo Chavez called the United States a
"terrorist state" in a speech before the United Nations. Chavez noted that Robertson's act was technically a "terrorist act" which has gone unpunished by this Republican-controlled government. Apparently our government has chosen to ignore the rule of law and has forgotten the virtue of justice.
When other nations look at the United States and its behavior it is easy to understand how they might conclude that they will be the next target of U.S. aggression if they dare to challenge the American global hegemony. When they are asked to "pony up" a few more hundred billion dollars to cover deficit spending by the Americans they look towards the Middle East and realize that they might be "cut off" at some future date from oil they desperately need. So they appease the tyranny of the United States government with another payment.
And that's the main reason that the U.S. must stay in Iraq. We are terrorizing the world into giving us more money to cover our increasing debts. The United States government is the biggest financial terrorist on the planet.
The basis for this "you need oil and we have it" extortion scheme is a widely-held perception that there is a finite amount of oil and that demand is increasing faster than supply. But that's only a perception. This perception has been premised on the widely-popularized notion of "Peak Oil."
The "Peak Oil" theory asserts that production curves have already peaked, or will peak soon, and the world will experience declining supplies while global demand is rapidly increasing.
This is a truly difficult prospect in the mind of anyone who accepts the notion that there are no alternatives to oil. This notion asserts that the world has "no choice" but to compete for dwindling supplies of oil. War is a natural consequence of such a competition.
"Peak Oil" theory is a myth because it is based on false assumptions. It's the "big lie" being presented to the world as justification for U.S. military aggression and economic hegemony. It isn't about oil at all, really, but rather about the unwillingness of the U.S. to "live within its means," "pay its debts" and "play well with others."
America is essentially telling the world "give us more money because we are sitting on 10 trillion dollars of oil which you will need" along with "we'll overthrow any government which changes it's trade currency from the dollar to the Euro."
That's what America has become: the biggest bully on the block, a global financial terrorist, a Pax Americana extortionist. The U.S. is willing to be peaceful as long as you give it more money.
All of this is unnecessary. What's needed is a massive international initiative to develop alternative energy sources, such as synthetic fuels ( made from coal ), ethanol,
biodiesel fuels produced by algae or renewable crops, wind power, hydroelectric, solar and a host of other alternative energy sources which have already been proven as viable alternatives to oil. As much as Americans hate even thinking about "consuming less" we could conceivably reduce our oil consumption by 10-20 percent with energy conservation measures. Truthfully, even if the world decided to continue its dependence on oil we could produce enough oil without depending on the Middle East.
There is an estimated
1.3 trillion barrels of oil, more than 5 times the amount of Iraq's estimated reserves, waiting for us on the ocean floor. Granted, it's more difficult to get to than the oil in Iraq, which is "easy oil" to mine by comparison, but it's doable. Therefore the myth of Peak Oil is a perceptual hoax cleverly used to justify the war in Iraq. It's an argument which accepts some facts and ignores others. Call it "the tyranny of the facts" if you wish. The technique employs only those facts which support the desired conclusion. It's a technique we've seen used repeatedly by the current gang of evildoers.
As with so many things in the current Republican regime, things are different than they seem. Perception is reality but only until the fleecing of America is accomplished. Then the truth sets in. Perceptions change but the truth persists.
Do I think we need to stay in Iraq? No, I think we need to leave Iraq and to do it soon. The international backlash from our foreign policy of military aggression and economic hegemony is brewing and it's going to be a hell of a disastrous storm when it reaches the coast. It has the potential to cause the greatest depression America has ever seen, perhaps even total economic collapse.
But, what the heck, let's be positive. It's the American way in the face of adversity.
One conceivable way out is to turn to the world and give our most sincere "mea culpa" for our past sins and begin working to free the world from dependence on oil. A few days ago the price of gasoline in London approached
$10 a gallon! There are shortages popping up all over the world. The United States has five percent of the world's population and consumes 25 percent of the world's oil. It's time for us to work towards providing for our own energy needs and help the world free itself from dependence on oil.
There is an alternative policy to
war, aggression and economic domination. There is a way for us to get out of Iraq and save America from financial disaster. This way requires us to throw the Republican party onto the trash heap of history's failed parties. It requires us to make a complete paradigm shift in American foreign policy. It's result will be friendlier relations with the world and a much smaller military.
Helpfulness is a virtue. We need to stop being the "world's bully" and start serving the needs of humanity. We need to help rather than hurt, make peace rather than war, create new solutions rather than perpetuate old problems.
Jesus taught us that
"The love of money is the root of all evil." I believe it is clear that George Bush and the Republicans who support him have chosen the "love of money" over the "love of virtue."
We will soon wake up from this evil spell cast upon us by the Republicans and smell the fresh flowers of a peaceful spring. We will release our love of money and embrace virtue in both our words and deeds. We will rehabilitate our reputation in the world and service the true needs of humanity by focusing on developing alternative energy solutions which will free humanity from dependence on oil, tyranny and war.
All of this can happen as soon as we reject the Republican agenda of war, domination and financial terrorism.
May God bless us all with a graceful transition to the New World.

US Ambassador To Iraq Predicts US Will Go Into Syria…
Zalmay Khalilzad was part of the
UNOCAL working group that went before Congress in 1998 stating that a pipeline into the Caspian could not be built until the government of Afghanistan was replaced. The US started making plans to replace the government of Afghanistan and announced to other nations as early as March 2001 plans to invade Afghanistan in October 2001. The people of the US were not told of these plans, of course. We were being fed "All Gary Condit all the time" as a distraction. 9-11 happened EXACTLY when it was most needed to anger/frighten Americans into supporting the already-planned attack on Afghanistan. Hamid Karzai, another UNOCAL "consultant" was installed as the ruler of Afghanistan while Zalmay Khalilzad became the special US envoy to Afghanistan before assuming his current role as US ambassador to Iraq.
Well then get the fuck out of Iraq!

Bush set up this disaster by cutting funds for flood control and hurricane preparations in Louisiana. He has set the stage for other disasters with similar cuts to emergency preparations in other parts of the country, and if you recall, the Bush budgets for NASA cuts the funding for safety systems in the years leading up to the Columbia disaster. So now that Katrina revealed just how weakened the US mainland has become through erosion of infrastructure, Bush wants to make it all better by pouring billions of dollars into "reconstruction". Not his own money, of course, your own, and no mention of ending the expensive war in Iraq, or calling off the even more expensive war planned for Iran. So where will that money come from for Bush/Rove's Reconstruction? Out of your pockets, of course. Which means you arer getting screwed again by the government, because you already paid for hurricane protection and flood control infrastructure. Bush misappropriated that cash and now he wants you to pay for the mess. That's really what hisspeech was about, "I spent your flood control money on Iraq and now that there is a flood I will spend more of your money to clean it up." So, what other domestic needs will Bush cut to pay for this mess?

When the President finally got to take his shit at the U.N., he did it alone in the men's room. The Secret Service blocked anyone else from entering - not the Sultan of Brunei, not the Prime Minister of Sweden - no one could walk into the men's room right off the Security Council chamber. He brought John Bolton with him, and the Secret Service checked out the space, saying, "No windows, two stalls, one way in, one way out." Then, with Bolton leaning uncomfortably on the edge of a sink, President Bush took one of those titanic, moaning shits that only great leaders falling from great heights can take. Bolton thought Bush was going to die as the President pinched a mighty loaf, huffing and wheezing as if he was giving birth to another incredible idea for the world body.
The intensity of the Commander-in-Chief porcelain-cracking defecation was odd, since Bush had just that day took two public shits at the United Nations building. First, before the General Assembly, the gathered world leaders were aghast at the amount of shit coming out of the U.S. President, as Bush admonished them to pass the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism even as his Pentagon makes plans to use nuclear weapons on other "evil" nations, with his commitment "to the Millennium Development goals" of stopping the spread of AIDS even as the his own administration imposes moralistic strictures on spending that are guaranteed to spread disease and poverty, with his support of the U.N. Democracy Fund even as his administration and its media lackeys support the overthrow or assassination of the legally elected Hugo Chavez. The President of Mozambique was overheard telling the Prime Minister of New Zealand, "Goddamn, that's a huge fuckin' load of shit" at the conclusion of Bush's speech. Then, the President took a shorter, but no less torturous, shit at the Security Council meeting, when he spoke about terrorism to the leaders there. How odd it must have been, to sit there and listen to this man speak about the need to prevent terrorism in its early stages when his government reacted like a bunch of terrified toddlers when a predictable moment of violence happened with Katrina, running in circles, crying, bumping into each other, stumbling onto their diapered asses. No wonder Bush needed a bathroom break. No wonder Condi granted him permission to go. (This is not to mention that she was seated behind him and thus bore the full power of his serial farting.)In the washroom, when Bolton coughed, as if overwhelmed by the stink of the executive turds, Bush laughed and told Bolton, "If you think my shit smells bad, you should smell New Orleans. Place smells like Jenna's ass after a frat party's run a train on it." Bolton, eyes watering, managed a brief snort, but he was caught up in the image of Bush's daughter bent over, commanding frat boy after frat boy to fuck her harder, reminding the U.N. Ambassador of his swinging days. His reverie was broken when Bush said, "Now come in here, Bolthead, so I can use that fluffy moustache to wipe my ass."

Bubonic plague was one of the world's first biological weapons. Indeed a story of a terror war involving Bubonic Plague as a weapon can be found in the old testament. In 1 Samuel 6-8 the enemy of the Israelites, the people of Ashdod, were struck down with a disease which arrived with mice, the symptoms of which are those of bubonic plague. Mice, as is now known, can carry the fleas that carry bubonic plague. While the Israelites and later Christians attributed the illness to the wrath of god (a good cover story when one is using biological weapons on ones enemies), 1 Samuel 6:5 reports that the people of Ashdod included gold statues of mice and spheres (representing swollen "buboes") in the tribute sent to the Israelites, proof that they knew exactly what had been done to them and how.

Though opinion is sharply divided, a slim plurality of Americans say they are more concerned about a natural disaster (36 percent) than about a terrorist attack (34 percent) happening in their area. Twenty-one percent say neither threat concerns them.

This graph shows how Bush's approval ratings benefited from terror alerts.

US warplanes have bombed targets in the Iraqi town of Ramadi while US forces have clashed with fighters in the city.
Fierce clashes erupted following the raids in the eastern gate of Ramadi, near the US military headquarters and in the big mosque area in the city centre. Some mosques also called on citizens through loudspeakers to donate blood for the injured.

Bill O'Reilly remarked, "The truth of the matter is our correspondents at Fox News can't go out for a cup of coffee in Baghdad."

KindaSleeezy Rice replied, "Bill, that’s tough. It's tough. But what — would they wanted to have gone out for a cup of coffee when Saddam Hussein was in power?" Bill: No, no-but after three years you expect a little security in the country... Condi: ...there is security... Bill: They can't get coffee...

Katrina was known to be headed into New Orleans a few days in advance, and the potential damage was known and understood years ahead of time. Yet this "unexpected" event threw the US Government into total confusion.
In contrast, the aftermath of 9-11 seemed quite well coordinated, which strongly suggests that 9-11 was not "unexpected" at all, especially when one considers that all the various players, including FEMA, were already in position for a "terror drill" the day before it happened.

Katrina Ushers in Return of Big Government
Hurricane Katrina also opened the floodgates to proposals in Congress building on a host of long-cherished Republican themes. These include proposals for school vouchers for storm-displaced children, more federal support for "faith-based" organizations engaged in hurricane relief, as well as business-friendly "enterprise zone" tax credits for enterprises that rebuild in stricken areas and eased environmental and labor-protection requirements.

Energy Prices Both Surge
Inflation surged by 0.5 percent in August as energy prices shot up by the largest amount in more than two years, even before Katrina hit at the end of the month. The hurricane caused a further spike in energy prices due to widespread shutdowns of oil and natural gas facilities in the Gulf Coast region.

Poll: 8 in 10 Want Drivers to Drop SUVs
With gas prices hovering around $3 a gallon nationally and the price of natural gas rising sharply, six in 10 said they are not confident President Bush is taking the right approach to solving the nation's energy problems.

US jobless claims at 10-year high - Quick, let's blame it on the hurricane!
The worry among economists is that the extra government spending will put increasing pressure on the US budget deficit at a time when it already is having to finance military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Gold stays close to 17-year high
Gold on Thursday moved to within striking distance of its highest level in more than 17 years as speculators continued to buy the precious metal as a hedge against further falls in the dollar due to the high US trade and budget deficits.

Bacharach, 77, recalls reading newspaper articles months before the hurricane, warning "that (New Orleans) would be engulfed, that people would drown, that bodies would be floating down the road. Faced with the unprecedented destruction of a major U.S. city, George Bush is using an address to the nation to offer a package of new federal aid to help uprooted hurricane victims rebuild their lives.
...the televised address also aimed at mending his image as a strong leader in a time of crisis? Rather than speak before a live audience, Bush planned to stand alone and broadcast his message directly into the camera from the evacuated city's historic Jackson Square? The perception of a sluggish response to the storm has led to the lowest approval ratings of Bush's presidency.

Baghdad: The bloodiest day
On a day when more than a dozen co-ordinated attacks thundered across Baghdad from dawn into the late afternoon - claiming 152 lives and wounding 542 - al-Qa'ida in Iraq said it was retaliating against a US-Iraqi operation directed at the insurgents' northern stronghold of Tal Afar. And as the hours passed with car and roadside bombs shattering the relative calm of the past few days, fears of civil war intensified.

OCCUPIED BAGHDAD, The New Iraq - Two suicide car bombers struck within a minute of each other and a half-mile apart in southern Baghdad on Thursday, killing seven policemen and raising the day's death toll from blasts in the capital to at least 31, police said.,1280,-5280208,00.html
The U.S. Occupation and Iraqi police drove through Baghdad's Dora neighborhood, where the bombings were concentrated, warning residents to stay indoors because five more car bombers were said to be ready to attack?

Calling U.S. troops `occupation forces,' Iraqis seek timetable for exit
The report is the second time in four months that National Assembly members have expressed frustration with the continued American military presence. In June, one-third of the 275 assembly members signed a petition asking the United States to set a timetable for withdrawal.

“The enemy here did just the most horrible things you can imagine, in one case murdering a child, placing a booby trap within the child’s body and waiting for the parent to come recover the body of their child and exploding it to kill the parents,” said Colonel H R McMaster, a senior American commander in the town.

Iran Briefing on U.S. Alleges Pattern of Concealment, Deception

Millions for a wall in Israel, but no money for a wall for New Orleans. Billions for a war based on lies, paid for by slashing funding for flood control, hurricane protection, and emergency preparedness here at home. Most of the National Guard on the other side of the planet.

There is no freedom without the freedom to say No. It is not surprising that the Leader of the Ronald Reagan 'Freedom' Society is accusing anyone who disagrees with his views as Treason. "A breach of allegiance to one's government usually commited through levying war against such government or by giving aid and comfort to the enemy." It wasn't Treason when the White House retaliated against Iraq War Critics by outing CIA agent Valerie Plame, and Brewster Jennings and Associates, which specialized in tracking the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction around the world in Israel, Russia, Pakistan, etc? That should make it easier for our enemy 'Al Queda' (nudge nudge wink wink) to blow up some dirty bombs in Albuquerque, so the Bush regime can launch tactical nuclear strikes on Iran. Maybe the reason the Bush regime tried to change the Name of the (GWOT) Global War on Terror to (GSAVE) Global Struggle Against Violent Extremism is so they wouldn't face the death penalty for commiting an act of treason during a time of War? I have not forgotten about September 11, 2001. I have not forgotten about Usama Bin Laden, Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction Related Programs, or the tens of Thousands of Iraqis killed in the name of 'Freedom'. If Ryan Brightbill doesn't like Richard Berthold he shouldn't register for the class. If Ryan Brightbill opposes abortions, then he shouldn't get an abortion. If Ryan Brightbill supports the War in Iraq, then he should drop out of college and go enlist in the military. There is no freedom without the freedom to say No.

Honoring Terror's Victims and Supporting the Troops
War protesters were in short supply. When two did appear along Mr. Rumsfeld's path, one carrying a sign saying, "Bush is a Liar," an aide accompanying Mr. Rumsfeld, Allison Barber, encouraged walkers to begin chanting "U.S.A." The chant was short-lived. Earlier in the day, several protesters appeared to run into trouble with the large police presence at the Pentagon and along the route. One man who registered for the walk was detained by a Pentagon police officer after he slipped a black hood over his head and produced a sign that read, "Freedom?" The man was removed from the Pentagon registration area, handcuffed and taken away in a police car. It was not clear whether he was charged or simply detained and the police did not respond to messages requesting more information. Ann Grossman, 56, from Silver Spring, Md., also carried a homemade sign, which read "Honor Our Troops, Respect Their Lives," that was confiscated by police at the Pentagon. Ms. Grossman registered to participate in the walk, saying she did so to voice her opposition to the Iraq war, and she was allowed to participate without the sign.

This is what we're walking for when we walk for freedom, according to participants in the Pentagon-sponsored Freedom Walk yesterday:
To remember the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. To support the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. To support the war in Iraq. To support the war on terrorism. To support American troops in all 177 countries where they serve. To support particular American troops, such as Sgt. Edward Scherz at Camp Fallujah in Iraq. To remember those killed in action in Iraq, such as Spec. Kyle Andrew Griffin. To support veterans. To raise money for the Pentagon Memorial to 9/11 victims. To raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Thousands walk to remember 9-11, support freedom’s defenders
There were demonstrators along parts of the parade route. Most walkers ignored them or read their signs without comment. Some did their own impromptu, verbal counter-protests back at the protesters.

Media, Protesters Kept Away from "Freedom Walk"
Critics of the event -- which was billed as a memorial for the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks as well as a march to support American troops -- charged that it was designed to tie the September 11 attacks to the war on Iraq.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced this week that it didn't want the news media taking photographs of the dead in New Orleans. A FEMA spokeswoman talked unconvincingly about the dignity of the dead. But the bizarre demand, a creepy echo of the ban on news media coverage of the coffins returning from Iraq, is simply the latest spasm of a gutted federal agency.
It's not really all that surprising that the officials who run FEMA are stressing that all-important emergency response function: the public relations campaign. As it turns out, that's all they really have experience at doing.

Bush Supporters Question Iraq War Tactics,3566,169041,00.html
Staunch supporters of the Bush administration's policy in Iraq have become more vocal and public with their concern over the way things are going there, prompting observers to suggest that even Republicans are getting nervous.

Bush Denies Race, Iraq War Played Role in Katrina Response
Asked by reporters whether the war in Iraq meant U.S. troops were stretched too thin to respond quickly, Bush answered testily that it was "preposterous to claim that the engagement in Iraq meant there weren't enough troops here, pure and simple." "We've got plenty of troops to do both," he insisted. The tour marked Bush's third visit to the region in nine days and came as he is struggling to assert his leadership after a calamity that has spawned bitter exchanges between local and federal officials. Bush's approval ratings have also tumbled to new lows.

The George Bush White House has presided over three national debacles: 9/11, the war in Iraq, and now Katrina's destruction
We now know from administration insiders that the Bush White House and National Security Council received a stream of warnings of imminent al-Qaida attack but were asleep on guard duty. A "black" surveillance operation run by U.S. Army intelligence inside the U.S. reportedly identified 9/11 ringleader Mohammed Atta in early 2000 and warned he was plotting to use civilian aircraft in a massive terrorist attack. But the Sept. 11 Congressional Commission -- a shameless political whitewash -- claimed there was no evidence of Atta or his plans. Not a single Bush administration official was held to account.

9/11 and the Manipulation of America
While military spending zooms upward, a downward slide continues for education, health care, housing, environmental protection, emergency preparedness and a wide array of other essentials. Across the United States, communities are suffering grim consequences. "Now it should be incandescently clear that no one who has any concern for the integrity and life of America today can ignore the present war," Martin Luther King Jr. said in 1967. The same statement is profoundly true in 2005.

Pentagon revises pre-emptive nuclear strikes
A White House spokesman said the United States would "respond with overwhelming force" to the use of weapons of mass destruction against the United States, its forces or allies, and said "all options" would be available to the president.

US develops strategy for first use of nuclear weapons against WMD
The Pentagon has drawn up a new strategy, built on the 2002 "Bush doctrine" of pre-emptive military strikes, that would allow the United States to make first use of nuclear weapons to thwart an attack using weapons of mass destruction against the country.

I called the Daily Lobo's office this morning to ask why the 'news' story on 9/11/01 did not mention Usama Bin Laden, the 2,000+ U.S. Troops killed in Iraq or Afghanistan, or how many civilians have been killed by 'smart' bombers. The U.S. Military does not do bodycounts, and they ban the Corporate State controlled Media from showing Flag draped coffins of dead returning heros. Today's (AP) story about 150 'Insurgents' killed in U.S.-led attack doesn't mention how many of them were women and children. I was informed that the Daily Lobo is a local 8 page paper, and that it just can't cover every story about some dead soldier. Maybe you should call it a Advertisement Paper? We might as well enjoy the Bread and Circus's before we are all nuked into a sheet of green glass. History of full of tyrants who staged attacks on their own people to trick them into wars and out of their civil rights. Welcome to the information age!

"Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information." -- US official quoted in Carl Cameron's Fox News report on the Israeli spy ring and its connections to 9-11.

It's been 1,456 days since GWB said he'd catch UBL 'Dead or Alive!'

When Joe Scarborough and ultraconservative Family Research Council head Tony Perkins are on television discussing the government's failed response to the Katrina disaster... when Tucker Carlson is wading through storm waters with a dazed expression but an odd, new fire in his eyes... when Michelle Malkin takes time out from thoroughly out-frothing has-been Ann Coulter in order to call for FEMA head Michael Brown to be fired... I'm sorry, but the administration spin is spun. It's over. I'm not saying well-funded hacks won't be back with another angle tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, but when even partisans like that are calling you out, your spin isn't so much "tough" as just pathetic and an embarrassment to your country. For once in Bush's sheltered, spoonfed existence, he needs to put Karl Rove and the political machine of his government in a corner for a few days, and get around to doing some actual governing.
Everybody recognizes the delayed and ineffectual Katrina response as a massive failure of government. Everybody, sans a very few straggling and lonely pundits and bloggers for whom Bush will never, ever topple from his gilded pedestal. (And while those selected pundits are oft-used for their pure circus value, it's not like they had any broad credibility to start out with -- a hack is a hack.)
Do the state and local authorities share some blame? I'm sure they do, and we need to find out. But
now-gutted FEMA and Homeland Security, which apparently have become nothing more than dumping grounds for Bush-Cheney campaign hacks needing paychecks, managed to bungle the national response so utterly that, for several critical days, it simply was non-existent. Yes, even in Republican-run Mississippi. Yes, even in the Louisiana parishes that were not flooded by the New Orleans levee breaks.
And yes, the President and his administration has now tried to bluster and blame-game their way through that horrific response, once they figured out the deaths were costing them polling points, proving once again that for this White House, image trumps actual government every day of the week. Tom DeLay has yanked his noose around the ostensible Republican "leadership" to warn against investigation, proving once again that there is literally no number of American deaths -- even when worst fears put the numbers in the tens of thousands -- which Tom DeLay finds important enough to act upon.
The administration said it was keeping us safe from terrorist attacks, or at least had a plan for responding to them; turns out, it can't even respond to disasters that have been broadly foreseen, and which come with days of prior warning. We need to find what's wrong, and fix it. Immediately.
That's only a "partisan" issue if you truly care about your party more than your country.
Which, as it turns out, some people do. And they're sticking out like sore thumbs right now.

So when do we get invaded to remove the rogue government that spies on its own people, gases its own people during anti War protests, stages "terrorist" attacks, holds crooked elections, attacks other nations without cause, and uses torture on innocent people looking for WMD that don't exist?
