I would like to respond to Brian V. Stacy's letter in Thursday's Daily Lobo. I am not saying this to be hateful, but Christians disgust me.
Why can't gay people get married and be miserable just like everyone else? If you want to defend marriage, just ban divorce. ,
It seems like the most homophobic institutions: The Bush Regime, The Military, The Church, are usually the queerest. Just look at the fake White House reporter/military male escort Jeff Gannon. Look at the S&M at Abu Ghraib and beyond. Look at the church abuse scandals. They should be trying to get priests to marry (women), not persecute gays for an attempt at monogamy. How can you be pro life and pro war. I love freedom so much I am pro life and pro choice.
Am I the only one who sees the hypocrisy of the crusader-in-chief calling on Syria to remove its occupation troops from Lebanon, while building American occupation bases in Iraq?
Why are we supposed to rally around our leader after he is appointed to office, ignores terrorist warnings, lies to start wars, declares "mission accomplished," loots the government, and declares freedom is on the march?
Why is it when peaceful demonstrations are held in Ukraine or Beirut, it is an example of freedom, but when peaceful demonstrations are held in front of the UNM Bookstore, we are maced, gassed, shot at with pepper balls, and herded by riot police into free speech zones? I've been arrested by the S.S. at UNM for making vague email threats against Ariel Sharon.
When do we get invaded to remove the rogue government that gasses its people, holds crooked elections, attacks other nations without cause and uses torture on innocent people?
