More than a year after their son was shot several times by his fellow Army Rangers on a craggy hillside near the Pakistani border, Tillman's mother and father said in interviews that they believe the military and the government created a heroic tale about how their son died to foster a patriotic response across the country. Presently we are in a terrible situation. We have been lied to by our elected officials from both parties for so long we automatically assume they are full of shit. Except when we need to. Several times in our recent past we have discovered we were lied into an unnecessary war. Does this cause us pause in warmaking efforts the way one might think? Of course not. Instead we employ the good old American Law of Self Exception. For those of you not familiar with this law, it's the one that states " I understand that bad things befall others....But it'll never happen to me".

Iraq - 'Coming Apart At The Seams Now'
It's coming apart at the seams now in Iraq. We saw on the news today that members of the Mehdi Army in the south, the militia of Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, exchanged gunfire with members of the ING (Iraqi National Guard) who in the south are primarily, if not entirely composed of members of the Badr Army, also a Shia group. So now we have Shia fighting Shia.
